Before going out and buying a bearded dragon, you should do your research for what they like to eat and how their home should be set up.

I have had my bearded dragon now for almost 3 years and he is growing healthy and happy.

Here are 7 basics tips on what a bearded dragon should eat -

Bearded Dragons love crickets, but do not feed them only crickets. This is not good for the older dragons, but juvenile dragons is fine to feed only crickets.

When feeding them crickets it is vital that you gut-load the crickets. This helps your dragon to maintain a healthy diet. Also make sure that the crickets are about the same size as the width of little dragon’s head. The width of their head is the space between the eyes.

You should also consider getting some vitamin supplements to powder the crickets and the other foods you feed your dragon

Bearded Dragons will eat everything, just about, you give them. Learn the proper lettuce you feed them. DO NOT FEED them Iceberg lettuce! Stick to the Collard Greens, Mustard Greens, etc.

They also love meal worms and king worms but do not give these to them very often, it’s better to keep these on a weekly basis not a daily basis. Also one note to those of you who want to breed you dragons feeding both your males & females LIVE PINKIE MICE.

Bearded Dragons will almost always look and act hungry, Please Do Not over feed them! Set up a regular schedule to feed them once in the morning or evening. Stick to this schedule no matter what, it is better for you and your dragon

Besides just crickets and greens, Bearded Dragons need fruits, such as strawberries, mangoes, zucchini, squash, and carrots. Give your dragon a well balanced diet and both you and your dragon will live long and happy lives. ” till death do us part”

Keep in mind that knowing how to feed your bearded dragon is a good start in preparing to purchase a Bearded Dragon, but you must also learn how important their home setup is too. There is a lot to know about bearded dragons so please do your research.

Bearded Dragons are great first time pets for most kids over the age of about 10. They are docile and easy going pets, and they love human contact.

I hope this articles has educated you some on the diet needed for a Bearded Dragon.

How To Use The Power Of A Feng Shui Dragon

Many Chinese cities celebrate the New Year with these magical creatures – groups of people line up in columns wearing one large robe depicting the Dragon. Any other time of the year, you can find the images of this creature all over China – on ceramics, clothing, and in decor.

Dragons are among the most popular symbols in Feng Shui – these creatures command the elements and can change their size from large to the size of a worm. A dragon in feng shui represents success, prosperity, power, good changes, good luck in love, and spiritual growth.

Success and prosperity: having the image of a feng shui dragon in your home or office will help to bring success and help achieve new heights in life.

Good luck in love: they activate and help attract love.

Power and good changes: the dragon creates good Chi energy with its every breath, and improves the life of its owner.

Spiritual growth: dragons symbolize wisdom. According to a 2000 year old legend, the souls of people make a journey into the higher realms on the back of a dragon. In addition, it is a mediator that transmits human desires to the Universe to make them come to life.

How do you use a feng shui dragon? Since these creatures are associated with water, choose one that is colored green, blue-green or golden yellow. Dragons are associated with the east (the energy of the rising sun), so it is best to place its image or figurine in the East of your home or office. Its image can be placed anywhere, because this creature is connected with all major zones; yet, it is going to be more powerful in the east. Dragons strengthen the active and bright Yang energy, so their images are best placed in living rooms or dining rooms, not in bedrooms. The image of this magic creature can decorate the east wall in your living or dining room.

Pearls: Many images depict a dragon holding a pearl in its mouths, or trying to catch the pearl. According to feng shui, the Magic Pearl symbolizes harmony and the unity of opposites, such as Yin and Yang. It is believed that a feng shui dragon without a pearl will get angry and become unable to bring good luck. So, choose the images and figurines depicting them with a pearl in their mouth.

Dragon and Phoenix: in feng shui, Phoenix symbolizes eternal love. When Dragon and Phoenix are shown together, they symbolize the link between masculine and feminine. The combination thereof helps to bring infinite happiness, love and prosperity. An ideal place for such pictures and figurines is a bedroom.

Magic Dragon Tears: Dragon tears are tears of joy that it drops looking at us from the sky. On the way from heaven to earth, the tears turn into crystals. Dragon tears in feng shui are large crystals that dissipate energy and convey a sense of joy, love and power.

New Dragons’ Den TV 2010: Pitching Secrets For The Best Dragons Den Investors Investment

We are in the throes of one of the worst economic downturns in history & to add more fuel to the fire, a UK general election looms.

Confidence in business growth is at an all time low as business owner’s fight to survive. Business finance & secure cash flow is key.

Although the new Dragons’ Den TV 2010 series 8 offers entrepreneurs hope by pitching for the best Dragons Den investors investment, be advised you enter the Dragon Den at your peril.

Two very significant factors have propelled the Dragons’Den into compulsive viewing for every business owner and aspiring business entrepreneur.

The BBC production team have taken a very mundane topic, i.e. business, and transformed it into one of the best entertainment programmes on TV.

The second reason is the current economic downturn and the failure of many of the banks to lend money to new businesses and existing business owners.

This has forced all aspiring start up entrepreneurs to seek alternative methods for finding financial investment to help them grow their business into a long term sustainable business success.

The Dragons’ Den offers these business owners an opportunity to enter the Dragon Den and pitch their business idea to five very astute Dragon investors with the sole aim of securing the investors investment.

It is rumoured that the new Dragons’Den TV series 8 is going to be the best Dragons Den yet. In fact the rumour mongers believe this new Dragons’Den TV series is increasing from a series of eight TV programmes, to ten programmes.

If this is true then it’s a testament to the high quality of this remarkable successful TV series.

From watching the previous best Dragons Den programmes, there appears to be no fixed profile for who will succeed and secure the The Dragons’ Den investors investment.

No one single industry sector appears to be the most appealing choice for the individual Dragons, as the investors investment has spread right across a very diverse portfolio of business sectors.

This is despite each of the new Dragons’ Den TV Investors hailing from a specific industry sector.

For example it is no great secret that Duncan Bannatyne Dragons Den has primary business interests in hotels and health clubs.

Peter Jones Dragons Den is well known for his telecommunications and e-commerce business ventures.

Theo Paphitis Dragons Den is heavily involved in the retail sector.

Deborah Meaden Dragons is known as a marketing expert who was involved in the holiday and lesuire industry.

Dragons Den James Caan really came to prominence after launching his own management recruitment agency.

Despite still retaining links to their primary business interests, the Dragons’Den investors have made some very astute investors investment in a number of diverse industry sector businesses which have presented before prior series of the best Dragons Den series.

While the new Dragons’ Den TV series seeks to maintain its success, new entrepreneurs will continue to enter the Dragon Den and pitch their ideas for investors investment in the new 2010 Dragons’ Den TV series.

Furthermore the Dragons will seek to expand their business sector portfolios by investing in the latest entrepreneurs hoping to make it big in business.

On the face of it the BBC has produced a complimentary environment for new and aspiring entrepreneurs to present their business ideas for investors investment.

Those who pitch successfully get oodles of added value benefits from securing investment from one or more of the Dragons’ Den investors.

While the financial investment is the primary factor for most entrepreneurs pitching, the added bonus of fifteen minutes of fame also goes a long way in raising awareness of their business as well.

I’m sure when Andy Warhol suggested that everyone in their lifetime will grab fifteen minutes of fame, he didn’t consider it as part of a business owners overall marketing strategy.

Those aspiring entrepreneurs who enter the Dragon Den, can at the very least take comfort in the fact that irrespective of whether they are successful in gaining the investors investment, the BBC has offered them the opportunity to join a fraternity of ‘Cool’ entrepreneurs.

With the exception of Michael Douglas in the Hollywood blockbuster movie, Wall Street, no other form of business investor has ever entered the realms of being cool. This is another factor which has propelled the best Dragons Den entrepreneurs into the media spotlight.

No doubt the next tranche of aspiring entrepreneurs looking to participate in the new Dragons’ Den TV series 8 will be hoping they emerge as one of the ‘Cool’ successes.

The two alternatives to this, are that you end up appearing so uninspiring that you fail to get any actual broadcast time in the Dragon Den.

The second alternative is that you do or say something that forces the Dragons to humiliate you and your business idea.

From an ongoing brand awareness and business marketing perspective, it won’t do you or your business any good if one or more of the Dragons’ Den investors mentions he would rather stick pins in his eyes, than invest in your business. This phrase has been uttered by Theo Paphitis.

Other put downs include: “You have presented yourself as completely un-investable,” from Deborah Meaden.

Peter Jones has told more than one budding entrepreneur, “you have completely wasted my time; this is not a viable business proposition.”

Entrepreneurs must tremble in their shoes as gravelly tongued Duncan Bannatyne dismisses them with the following comments: “I’ve never heard of such a ridiculous idea for a business, I’m out.”

As the newest investor in the Dragons’Den, James Caan often offers a more subtle verbal dismissal like, “thank you, but this does not appear to be a viable business which can offer a return to an investor.”

Sometimes you can almost see the entrepreneur stagger as this dagger of subtle dismissal ends their dreams of gaining any investors investment.

All business owners can learn from the business secrets and tips disclosed by the best Dragons Den investors, which is why I’ve included some of their best documented comments in the following paragraphs.

Duncan Bannatyne Dragons Den: Investors Investment Secret #1: Understand Your Financial Numbers

The Dragon’s Backbone – Longji Titian Rice Terraces

It is hard to imagine anywhere in the People’s Republic untouched by civil engineers, the levelers of history. But truly nowhere else in China has life remained perfectly intact – culturally and naturally – as on the Dragon’s Backbone in the rural villages of Longsheng county is southwest China.

While Guangxi Autonomous Region’s one-two punch of geological wonders are provincial sites that should not be missed – Guilin for the red hat-wearing Chinese tour groups and Yangshuo for Western backpackers – Longji Titian is an ideal place for those who cherish rural tranquility and solitude.

Indeed, to get to the Dragon’s Backbone one must ascend dizzying heights (the highest in southern China), and enter a mystical fog that removes everything travelers know about modern China, placing you in a time when people were one with the good earth.

No white tile buildings in sight, the pastoral villages, namely Dazai and Ping’an, are constructed entirely of two and three story wood cabins hugging the vertical mountainside, with spring water coursing through the town’s canals. It is here travelers will find accommodations at the simple family-run inns that make up the two settlements.

While one may consider Dazai and Ping’an, located respectively at the northern and southern ends of the peak, as lodging paradises, they are but mere entrances to the wonders ahead. Most visitors are content with the designated “viewpoints” around the towns’ terraced fields, but for the nimble hiker, continue on into the lush hillside. Follow a narrow path of mud and stone through a misty forest of venerable trees, dewy ferns and, yes, bubbling brooks.

The rice terraces, with sloping grades reaching 50 degrees, have been sculpted by generations of farmers beginning in the Yuan dynasty to shape the hillsides into grand agricultural pyramids not unlike those found in Guatemala or Mexico. The slopes are infinite in scope and, at an altitude of 1,100 meters, seem to have no bottom or peak. It is simply breathtaking. The hillsides that have been left uncultivated are threaded with trickling water, channeled from nearby springs to saturate the plots below, and are dotted with tombs of generations upon generations of agrarians, like those you’ll see still working on the terraces.

Among them are the dark-skinned Zhaung, Bai and Yao minorities who, not unlike the Mayan Indians of Guatemala, are identifiable by the resplendence of their hand-woven traditional attire. While their men trudge through the muddy terraces sowing rice, the small women roam the paths like little florescent pink armies selling crafts and textiles kept in wicker baskets strapped on their backs. Their pierced earlobes hang with hoops of silver, and their hair, grown long since birth, is kept swathed on their heads. For a small sum though, they will happily undo their knot to show their hair cascading to the soil.

About 10 kilometers between Ping’an and Dazai is Zhongliu, a rustic village of arched stone bridges, dilapidated stables and stilted cottages symmetrically enclosed by terraces, crags and waterfalls. Hikers are approached by cheerful natives who do not hesitate to stop their plowing and ask “Chifan ma?” Their persistence to dine in their homes notwithstanding, what could be more refreshing after an exhausting morning navigating the mountain terrain than a spread of scented sticky rice baked in bamboo over an open fire, greens, salted meat and Longji tea or watery rice wine?

The undulating path continues on, with each bend revealing agricultural grandeurs and vistas of incomparable beauty. Late in the day, when the golden light of dusk illuminates the ribbon-like terraces, travelers encounter Longji’s rush hour traffic; farmers descending into the outlying villages with bushels of reeds and firewood slung over their shoulders, alongside the occasional oxen grazing in the path. That’s life on the misty mountaintop, where time has stood still for the past 700 hundred years.

Ouroboros Dragon

Symbols have always been worn as jewelry with different purposes like unity, fertility, to lure forces of evil away from the bearer and other things like that. A symbol of unity can be found in the ouroboros dragon pendant. This is a representation of the Gordian knot, but with ouroboros dragon biting his own tail.

What shape does ouroboros dragon pendant have? It can be obtained on a Torus tube that resembles a donut or a sphere which turns in from one side coming out on the other, all in a perpetual motion. There are lots of mathematical formulas and equations in a Torus tube. Its use in science was as a geometric or mathematical pattern of the universe. It was also used extensively in sacred geometry.

I mentioned the Gordian knot pattern followed by the ouroboros dragon pendant. You may wonder what that is. Legend has it that Gordias was a Phrygian farmer. One day, on his plough, an eagle landed. That was considered a sign from the gods as he would one day become king.

There was a time when the Phrygians found themselves with no king. They consulted the oracle about what they should do. He told them the first man that would ride up to the temple in a cart should be acclaimed as king. Gordias was that man and he was riding in his ox-cart.

After he became king, Gordias founded the city of Gordium. This city became the Phrygian capital. In the acropolis, his ox-cart was preserved and an intricate knot secured its yoke. That knot was named the Gordian knot. According to the legend, the one that could untie the knot would rule over Asia.

In the year 333 BC, a young man attempted to untie it and when he couldn’t find the end of the knot, he sliced it in half. The name of that man was Alexander, but we would know him under his full name Alexander the Great. The solution he chose to unravel the knot was known from then on as the Alexandrian solution, which signifies choosing a bold stroke to solve an intractable problem.

Who was Alexander the Great? He was a Greek king, son of Philip II of Macedon, and could pride himself as being one, if not the most successful military commanders in all history. Before he died, he succeeded in conquering most of the world which the ancient Greeks knew.

Alexander lived up to the prophecy of the one who unravels the Gordian knot. He expanded his empire by conquering the Persian Empire, including Phoenicia, Anatolia, Syria, Judea, Egypt, Gaza, Bactria and Mesopotamia all the way to the Punjab.

There have been lots of disputes about the way Alexander provided the solution for the knot. There is also some significance attributed to the knot as a cipher signifying the name of Dionysus, guarded by priests and revealed to the kings of Phrygia.

If you want to have jewelry representing the ouroboros dragon pendant, be sure to visit ka-gold-jewelry.com. On this website you will also find lots of jewelry representing other interesting and mystical symbols at reasonable prices.

Now you know the history and legends behind the Gordian knot. You can purchase an ouroboros dragon pendant from the website mentioned afore and offer it as a symbol of unity when people join their lives in holy matrimony or other similar occasions.

Tiamat, the First Dragon

The first dragon story on record is found in the Babylonian creation epic, Enuma Elish. First called Labbu by the Sumerians in 3000 BC, this dragon came to be known as Tiamat when that civilization gave way to the Babylonians and their mythologies blended. Broken down, Tiamat’s name means “life-mother,” and this she-dragon was indeed the creator of all. Part animal, part serpent, and part bird, Tiamat was revolting in appearance and certainly did not possess the nurturing qualities we now regard as motherly; for she, along with her husband Apsu, was terrible, vengeful, and full of malice toward the gods, which were her and Apsu’s descendants. Tiamat was the very spirit of chaos, and the she reigned with Apsu in troubled confusion and disorder.

The conflict began when their children began to put things into order. This upset Apsu, who first consulted with his minister Mummu. Together they devised a plan to stop their children’s, the gods, activities and destroy them. As they made their way to Tiamat to share the evil plot, they were overheard by Ea, who captured and slew Apsu and Mummd using an incantation. Ea then returned to the other gods to inform them of the terrible news, without knowing that his actions had been seen by his evil brother, Kingu, who had his own plans.

Kingu made his way to Tiamat with the tidings. Instantly she became enraged, just as he’d schemed. Fuming and full of wrath, she spawned an army made up of eleven kinds of monsters, each worse than the others. Among them were snarling dragons, vipers and pythons, hurricane monsters, hounds, scorpion-men, tempest furies, fishmen, and mountain rams. Colossal in size, with razor-sharp teeth, and poison in place of blood, these monsters were unafraid of battle. Finally, Tiamat stationed Kingu at the head of the army, honoring him by placing the tablets of destiny in his breast, for whoever was in possession of the tablets was given authority to lead.

Meanwhile, Ea had enlisted the aid of his father, Anshar. First, Anshar commanded Ea to visit Tiamat and beg for mercy. Ea mustered up the courage to face the great mother-dragon, but when he saw Kingu at the head of the dreadful army followed by the fuming Tiamat, he recoiled with fear and returned to tell the rest of the gods. One after one, the gods attempted reconciliation, only to be gripped with terror and sent back. Finally Anshar called on Ea’s son Marduck, exalting him to the status of hero, the highest of all the gods.

Cleverly, Marduck prepared terrible weapons of his own, including a net and seven winds from every direction. Thus arrayed for combat, Marduck led his army forward. As Marduck boldly approached the battlefield, Kingu lost his nerve and began muttering to himself, causing confusion among the ranks of monsters. Without flinching, Marduck called for Tiamat. Glistening and horrible, the wicked dragon came to the front of her army.

Angrily Marduck charged Tiamat with her crimes. Like one possessed, Tiamat screeched wildly in retaliation. The battle began. In the commotion, the gods trapped Tiamat in the net. Enraged, Tiamat opened her mouth seven miles wide in protest. Without fear or hesitation, Marduck commanded the seven winds to fill her belly. Then, as her courage fled her, Marduck used his spear to burst her belly and sever her inward parts. In one final stroke he pierced her heart. Without their creator and leader, the fierce monster army scattered, and Marduck claimed victory. The tablets of destiny were captured and bestowed upon the conqueror.

But the story of Tiamat did not end there, nor did her creations cease. Cleaving the great carcass of the dragon in two, Marduck used the upper half to create the heavens, and the lower part to make the earth. The waters gushing out of her became the clouds, and her eyes became the source of the Tigris and the Euphrates. Kingu was also slain, and his blood was used to create the first humans. And thus, chaos was conquered, and the world was forever secure.

Do the Dragon Dance at the Feast of the Drunken Dragon in Macau

The Feast of the Drunken Dragon has an interesting history. Legend has it that during the Qing Dynasty, villagers of mainland China were attacked with a plague. They called upon the Buddha to protect them, by parading a large statue of the Buddha through village streets. During the procession, a python (believed to have been sent from heaven) blocked their way. A drunken monk is then said to have cut the python into three pieces, and dancing in glee, threw the pieces into the river.

The river water turned red from the python’s blood and then the python is said to have re-emerged from the river and flown in to the skies. This was assumed as a sacred omen, since the python was believed to be a sacred dragon sent from heaven. After this the villagers discovered that the weeds growing in the river had accrued certain medicinal values that could cure plague.

Since then, the Feast of the Drunken Dragon is celebrated in the Chinese cities of Macau, Zhuhai and Zongshan where people dance the ‘drunken dragon dance’, in processions, while drinking and spitting out Chinese rice wine.

In Macau, the Feast of the Drunken Dragon has been regularly held for the past fifty years, on the eight day of the fourth month of the Chinese Lunar calendar. This day also coincides with the birthday of the Buddha and the feast of God Tam Kung. It begins with the traditional Chinese custom of eye-dotting which takes place at the Kuan Tai Temple in Senado Square. After this, the procession progresses to every fresh food market in Macau.

Another tradition during the Feast of the Drunken Dragon involves giving out “longevity rice” in lunch boxes (for free of course). This rice is supposed to give a long life and many offspring to the eater. Such lunch boxes are given out at Iao Hon, Holland Garden, Toi San and Patene along with Red Market and Sao Domingos Food Market.

If you stay at a luxury Macau hotel you can enjoy the festivities of this event first hand. The hotel will arrange all your itineraries if you so require, even allowing you to participate in the celebrations. The Sands Macao Resort Hotel is especially recognized for its concierge services, besides the luxury accommodations and ultra-modern conveniences.

The Red Dragon of St. John, the Divine

Perhaps the dragon that has had the most influence on Westernized Christian thought is the red dragon that dominates the last book of the New Testament. The author of this book, who simply identified himself as John, had been exiled to the Isle of Patmos, a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea, where he received a brilliant vision in which he was welcomed into the heavens to witness all things which were to come. In the vision he was shown a book with seven sealed portions. He was allowed to see the contents of each sealed portion in turn and then commanded to write what he saw. It is at the very end of the seventh portion that we find the story of the red dragon.

The story begins when John sees a beautiful woman in childbirth. This is no ordinary woman; she is clothed in the sun, with the moon under her feet, and wears a crown of twelve stars. As she struggles to give birth, a great red dragon comes into view. He is as terrible as the woman is resplendent, a serpentine creature with seven heads and ten horns, and a crown on each head. With his mighty tail he draws away a third of the stars of heaven and violently throws them down to the earth. Thus announcing himself, he alights menacingly before the woman, threatening to devour her child as soon as it is born.

But the woman is able to save her newborn son, who is mysteriously secreted away to the throne of God, the dragon’s arch-enemy. God has a special interest in this baby, for it has been prophesied that he will one day become the ruler of all nations. The woman, thus assured that her child is protected, flees into the wilderness, where a refuge has been prepared for her.

Meanwhile God sends his angels, led by the valiant archangel Michael, to battle against the red dragon. The dragon is fierce, assisted by his own legion of demons, but eventually they are beaten and evicted from heaven.

On earth, the vengeful dragon seeks out the woman to torment her, but using two great eagle wings given her, she escapes; however, the red dragon possesses great powers, and even controls the weather. From his mouth he creates a flood to drown her. But the earth opens its gaping mouth and swallows the flood, aiding the woman in her escape. Frustrated, the dragon then turns his attention to the woman’s other children, who fill the earth. Hungry for revenge, the red dragon seeks help.

He doesn’t have to wait long before a hideous beast rises out of the sea. This beast also has seven heads and ten horns, but his body is that of a leopard, while his feet are those of a bear, and his mouth is that of a lion. The dragon, finding a worthy accomplice, grants the beast power and authority. While the inhabitants of the world watch, the beast reveals a deadly wound on one of its heads. As if by magic, the wound heals itself. Awe-struck, many people flock to the dragon and the beast, worshipping them and turning against God.

With their new army behind them, the beast and the dragon wage war against the inhabitants of the earth still faithful to god, overcoming them and taking many captives. And although the beast dies, he is replaced by another beast with two horns like a lamb. This second beast controls fire, making it fall from the sky. Like the dragon, he is also very wicked and teaches the people to worship the first beast. Indeed, he teaches them that they should kill anybody who won’t worship the first beast. Caught in this wicked fervor, the people began to mark their bodies, so that they can tell who worships the beast and who doesn’t.

Back in the heavens, the angels tell God about all that is happening on the earth with the dragon and the beasts. Enraged, God vows to punish any who has received the mark of the beast. From a cloud, the grown son of the woman descends, wearing a golden crown and carrying a sharp sickle in his hand. Calling the angels to his side, the armies of God prepare to visit the earth. Seven mighty angels appear, each bearing a terrible plague and a golden vial containing the wrath of God. God’s army is prepared to face the dragon in a final battle.

One by one the angels pour their vials out upon the beast-worshipers, inflicting them with sores, death, heat, darkness, hunger, and drought. Before the last angel pours the contents of his vial out, three magical frogs are pulled out of the mouths of the dragon and the beast, revealing how the evil creatures had received their powers. When the last vial is poured out, the ground begins to shake. Great hailstones fall from heaven. The mountains are flattened and the islands fall into the sea. All those who have marked themselves are overtaken and, along with the beast are thrown into a lake of fire. Finally, the son of the woman, who now sits upon the throne, rewards all the people who have remained faithful to God. Even those who have been killed are brought back to life. Beaten, the dragon is bound and shut in a bottomless pit where he can no longer deceive the nations for a thousand years.

Welsh Dragon Tattoos

For those of Welsh heritage and family roots in Wales, the Red Welsh Dragon is one of the single most popular tattoo designs, as popular as the Rampant Lion is with the Scots, or the Lion Standard with the English. A symbol with a rich and ancient heraldic past, the Welsh dragon tattoo design contain a fascinating history – just one of the many reasons it makes such a wonderful and powerful tattoo symbol that represents Welsh heritage.

The dragon and dragon art tattoos has been prominent in the folklore of most cultures, so many physical characteristics are present or absent in great variations around the world and include combinations of numerous animals. The Welsh national flag has a dragon on it it has two equal horizontal stripes, white above green, and a large red dragon passant. The dragon standard was perhaps first seen in Britain in the shape of the “draco” a standard carried by the cohorts of the Roman legion. There are many adaptations of this dragon ranging from ones that looked exactly like the Welsh flag to more stylized versions.

Folklore says that red dragon represents Wales and the white dragon represents the invading Saxons.

In the end, both dragons get drunk with mead and are buried in the center of the island of Britain, at Oxford, in a stone coffin. The white dragon comes to symbolize death, with its absence of color, and the red takes on the role of anger. In Arthurian legend, Uther Pendragon, the father of King Arthur, was supposed to have used the dragon as his symbol in war. Even today, the Wesh red dragon is a part of the coat of arms of the Prince of Wales.

In later Christian iconography, the dragon appears most often as a symbol of the devil.

It can be very important to understand the meaning or symbolism behind dragon art tattoos or the Meaning of Celtic Knot Tattoo so you, your friends, your clients, or anybody for that matter, knows the symbolism of their Welsh dragon tattoo designs before selecting one.

To choose welsh dragon tattoos or any dragon art tattoo that is symbolic of a particular culture it may pay to research and just inform yourself of its significance so you can discuss it with people who inquire about your Welsh Dragon Tattoos.
